These high-quality rocaille beads have been Manufactured in Japan since 1945.
After World War II, founder Yamanaka Ichiji returned to his hometown of Hiroshima, a city left in ruins by the atomic bomb. Amidst the desolate landscape, he was struck by the vibrant hues of women’s kimonos, standing out against the grey remnants of destruction.
The war had left deep emotional scars, and people faced immense hardship and poverty but the world was about to change into an era of freedom to enjoy bright colors.
